The Old White People's Party

I hate it when my job gets in the way of my funny, inciteful blogging. It's been over a week since I wrote anything here. Actually, I did add more information to the other pages on the Wahey site, so please look things over. As my wife tells me all the time, I am a wealth of useless information. Try not to fall asleep as you read interesting Weymouth facts.

Anyway, back to the task at hand. I barely noticed, as did just about everyone else, that Sarah and the Tea Partiers came to town last week. The throngs of people we're always hearing about at these events actually turned out to be a couple thousand. Of the couple thousand, I think one African American was spotted. Scott Brown is smart, at least smarter than I thought, to keep his distance from these old white wind tea baggers. I see they at least appear to be cleaning up their act a bit by hiding their obvious racism and homophobia.

The sad part of the story is that what they say they're angry about, high taxes, turns out to be what they're most misinformed about. Taxes are the lowest they've been in 60 years. Their other favorite gripe, health care, just becomes embarrassing once they start trying to sound intelligent about the debate. Most of them don't even realize they're part of the problem.
