Several Beers Ago
Dave arrived in Dawson City, which is about the halfway point of the race. Mushers are required to rest for a minimum of 36 hours before heading back out to the trail. Dave has dropped to fourteenth place overall but, as can be seen in the video, doesn't appear worried. Actually, now that I think of it, he never appears worried. The other good news is that all his dogs are healthy, which will help him in the second half. Several of the other mushers have dropped multiple dogs, some running with only ten. It is doubtful that Big D will catch the leaders at this point, some of which have already headed back out, but hey, it's not over til it's over.
