Fuck The Helmet

In case you Wahey Boys were wondering where Stanley is, I'm down in beautiful Florida taking in the sun, spring training and, oh yes, watching over the original Stanley Ramon to make sure he doesn't goose any unsuspecting nurses. He has been recovering in the hospital from a run in with a deer. Details are a bit sketchy but Old Sid (that's his firefighter name) ran into a deer while tooling around on the Harley and wound up unconscious on the side of the road. The Harley was a total loss Sid's Harleyand Sid, at 75 years old, has a whole score card of injuries. Starting at the top he sustained some bleeding in his brain, a broken collar bone, 4 broken ribs, one of which punctured his lung, a dislocated wrist and a broken pelvis. When I tried to break the news to his mother, Cora, I said "I have some bad news about Dad" and she replied, "is he in jail?" When I asked if he was wearing his helmet he said "fuck the helmet", and since he's my Dad, I won't bring it up again. When I asked him if he needed anything he said, "a comb". Gotta love those Spains. What's that advice again? Do as I say, not as I do. Yah, that's it.

Anyway, Dad is progressing well and may be moved to a rehab facility next week to start physical therapy. If anyone is interested in contact details, click on my name below and let me know who you are.

FYI I gave a report on Sid at our last Lodge meeting. I told them that he'd be OK because he landed on his head first and you can't do any damage to a Marine by hitting him in the head. Say Good Nite Stan. Dinty

I bet that's a Dunkin Donut Coffee he's got! I'm recommending to the US Marine Riders that we change his road name from Sid to Deerslayer!
