Congratulations Scott Brown
Although I am a Democrat and have voted that way ever since I was old enough to vote, I do not vote based on the person but the issues. For me the issue of health care in this country is huge and way overdue for an overhaul. I could care less if Martha Coakley won or lost. I felt she ran a lousy campaign in the primary and special elections. While I was out holding a sign and making phone calls for Mike Capuano, I didn't see much evidence that Coakley was working as hard but wasn't surprised that she won. After the primary nothing changed in her approach to campaigning and she even decided to take the holiday off. It wasn't until she realized that Scott Brown was making a serious run at her that she woke up and went to work.
So Scott Brown deserved to win based on his outworking the fat, lazy Democrats who thought they had it in the bag. Hopefully Deval Patrick will make the proper adjustments before his run for Governor. Meanwhile, I am here on my island waiting for something positive to happen to health care. All the Scott Brown nosers that never vote all of a sudden decided to hop on his band wagon "to take back America". Like that will happen. My brother in law was quick to point out that I mistakenly stated in my previous Scott Brown opinion, that he wasn't for "gay marriage". My bad. Scott Brown stands for the sanctity of marriage. No surprise there. I'm sure Scott Brown will stand for whatever John McCain tells him to stand for, even though Mrs. McCain (she's in charge of the money) actually has the fortitude to stand up for what is right.
Meanwhile, in the real world, the one being run by a Democrat, not by a "Terminator", my friends struggle to pay for health care. The guys I work beside every day do not have health insurance, despite what you read (they must be in that 3%), and when they go to the emergency room, those people taking back America will pay for them. Of course, not everyone is so irresponsible, there are those that are working multiple "part-time" jobs because their employers refuse to put them on "full time" status in order to avoid paying for the "benefit" of health care. That's how they pay for health care, the benefit, not the right. But hey, I got it, who cares about them, right Scottie!
Check back in two years.
