Trash Or Tomorrows
I'm posting this video. I hope the authors don't mind, whoever they are. Whether you agree or not with the message, the video is well done and puts into perspective the budget problems facing the Town Of Weymouth. Parents are understandably upset that it appears the school system will be taking the brunt of the fiscal beating the town will take in FY-2011. The police and fire departments have somehow managed to trim their budgets and avoid layoffs for the time being. The same cannot be said for our schools as numerous teaching positions will be lost.
As the ensuing months unfold there will be plenty of blame and Monday morning quarterbacking going on. Already people are comparing police with firefighters, and teachers, and talking about wages and benefits and who deserves more, and who is more important. The poor accountant that made that mistake a few years back with the school's budget has been taking an endless beating. All of which does nothing to solve the current problem. So, back to the video, which is at least a creative view of dealing with it.
