Who's Stan?
Stan is my middle name and also my nick-name. A long time ago, a guy named Lenny Stewart was copying one of my test papers in class, although I'm not sure why, and he saw that my middle name was "Stan". It struck him as funny and he started calling me by that name and over time many of my friends referred to me by that name also.
I comment often on various web sites as "Stanley Ramon". My favorite sites are the Patriot Ledger, Boston Globe, Weymouth News and John Keller's blog site.
My name in various forms can also be found on Wikipedia sites, usually related to historical facts about Weymouth. I consider myself an amateur historian and writer, whose main concentration is Weymouth, Massachusetts. I have lived in Weymouth my entire life, as did my father and grandfather, also named Stanley.
In reality I am a contractor and have served the construction business in various capacities for over 30 years. I have been in management, estimating, specification writing, as well as a tradesman.
As I'm sure you can see, this site is almost completely mine. I have done all the work. My friends, The Wahey Boys, do indeed exist, but are merely an extension of my story and seldom participate in contributing to the site. Not that they don't enjoy it, but choose not to for differing reasons that have to do with their jobs or plain old shyness.
All of the information on this site comes from research conducted at various libraries utilizing town meeting records, town reports, old news reports usually from the newspapers linked to on the various pages of Waheyboys.com. I have also used material and pictures from other web sites. Wherever I have used material directly from another source I have tried to link to it or given credit where deserved.
