Officer Davey Honored

Fallen Weymouth Police Officer Michael Davey's brothers honored him with a walk-by that began at the Weymouth High School and proceeded down Park Avenue and onto Route 18 to the McDonald Funeral Home. Route 18 was completely closed down while Policeman from all over Massachusetts paid their respects to the young father of three that was killed in the line of duty.
The last Weymouth Policeman to be killed in the line of duty was in 1915 when Police Chief Patrick Butler was run down by a drunk driver. Butler, who had come to Weymouth at the age of 10 from Ireland, served as a Weymouth Policeman for 35 years.
